What was the battle called that sherman destroyed a major manufacturing and transportation hub for the confederacy?

    This battle was called the battle of Atlanta. Sherman burned a large percentage of the city, killing many people. However, this had the side effect of making the president, Lincoln, re-electable, by showing the people of the Union that his war was a successful endeavor.
