    The Eastern bloc was led by the USSR and was made up of the following countries: the Warsaw Pact Organization, founded in 1955 and existed until 1991. It was a military Alliance of numerous States with obligations of military mutual assistance in case of aggression against any of them. The Warsaw Pact was organized by the USSR, Poland, Czechoslovakia, Romania, the German democratic Republic, Hungary, Bulgaria and until 1961 Albania. In addition to these countries, the USSR allies were Cuba, the people's Republic of China, North Korea, Vietnam, Mongolia, Egypt, Syria, Libya, Algeria, Ethiopia, India, Nicaragua, Kenya, Senegal, Cambodia, Bangladesh.
