Is lightning more likely to strike a short metal fence or a tall tree in the same area? why?

    Hi!

    lightning is more likely to hit a tall tree in a an open space then a short metal fence because lightning more often hits higher objects. iron is a good conductor, but it only hits iron so often because we put it on top of roofs and towers, making it the highest object.

    The tree because lightning often strikes the tallest object in the area.
