    the Over) 40 yr dispute between the great powers of Europe (Britain, France, Italy, Austro-Hungary, Russia, & Germany)

    general growth of a nationalistic way of thinking & gorverning all acroos Europe,

    and the july crisis of 1914, when Franz Fernindand was killed along with his wife and a few agents
