    The environmental effects of various networks of exchange in Afro - Eurasia from c. 1200 to c. 1450 The various networks of trade exchange in the Euro-Eurasia world brought about vast changes to the world trade. Various important and historic trade routes such as the Silk Road, Trans-Saharan trade route, and Silk Road were made during this time period so that empires and countries could buy and sell goods from around the world. These trade routes made various changes to the environment as well. People started settling on the trading routes and started degrading the environment for settlement.
