Which geographic features had the most significant positive influence on settlement patterns and economic development in the British North American colonies

    Mostly it was about climate and resources. Good climate enabled growing crops like tobacco and cotton, as well as corn and wheat, so people moved to such colonies often, example being Virginia. Resources are things like mines or gold which were major factors. An example can be the Sioux war that was led over miners and settlers wanting to move into the land of the Sioux natives, or the Californian Gold Rush.
