    This topic deals with the chief landforms in the Midwest in the Great Plains region. A landform is a natural feature on the earth's surface. A good example of a landform is a mountain range. There two mountain ranges in the Midwest:1. the Appalachian Mountains on the eastern side of the Midwest. 2. the Rocky Mountains on the western side of the Midwest.

    The largest freshwater lakes in the world are found in Midwest. There are five lakes in this region; Lake Superior, Lake Michigan, Lake Huron, Lake Erie and Lake Ontario. These lakes collectively make up the Great Lakes region.
