Describe the values, social customs, and traditions prescribed by the lord-vassal system consisting of shogun, daimyo, and samurai and the lasting influence of the warrior code in the twentieth century.

    Shoguns - generals who rule in emperors stead.

    Daimyo - this are the land owners in Japan.

    Samurai - this are trained warriors who come from noble families.

    Explanation:

    Minamoto clan leader took the title of shogun in 1192 and they passed it Down to their children for the 700years.

    Societal structure

    Emperor - usually a figurehead

    Shogun - powerful military general (leader).

    Daimyo & samurai - daimyos are powerful leaders who lead soldier's made up of samurais.

    Samurai - they serve shoguns and daimyos.

    Peasant - poor and powerless civilians.

    Daimyo and Samurai relationship: daimyos pay samurais to protect their land, this samurai are usually paid with food supplies but the strong ones are paid in land.

    Samurai warrior code:

    Bushido is the warriors code of conduct which states that

    He must be a brave and honorable fighter.

    Live simple and disciplined.

    Be loyal to his Lord till death.
