Marbury vs. Madison is the Supreme Court case that established the idea of judicial review. The concept of judicial review gives the Supreme Court the power to interpret the constitutionality of laws made by the federal government. This is one of the most significant powers given to the Supreme Court and has been used numerous times since this case in 1803.
