Why didn't industry develop in the South?

    This is the reason why industries had not developed in the South.

    Industrialization couldn't gather much attention in South, because the cotton industry was much familiar to the region in terms of abundance and profit making. People build industries to make money and earn profits from the products they create, but in the South, cotton farms did the same, what industry did to other parts.

    Cotton farming was more prominent and was the major source of income in the south, which was the main reason industry didn't develop much in the south.
