What factors influenced the development of the plantation colonies

    The development of plantation colonies mostly came to be due to the need for them; which is obvious. What happened was that European nations (and the United States of America as well) needed an ever-increasing production of goods which had to be satisfied. The only way how this could have been done (to their knowledge) was strought the use of plantation colonies.
