A Subcontinent is a large landmass that is smaller than a continent.

Huge mountain ranges separate the Indian Subcontinent from the rest of Asia.

    The Rugged Hindu Kush Mountains

They 're located in the northwest and divide the subcontinent from Central Asia.

    Eastern and Western Ghats

They're low mountains that separate India's East and West coasts from the country's interior.

    The Himalayas

Perhaps the most impressive physical features in the Subcontinent.

These enormous mountains stretch about 1,500 miles along the northern border of the Indian Subcontinent and are formed by the collision of two massive tectonic plates, the Himalayas are home to the world's highest mountains.

The answer is the Himalaya mountains. It is the highest mountain range on earth, with fourteen peaks over 8,000 meters high, being Everest the highest mountain on earth. Others, such as K2 (8,611 meters) and Kanchenjunga (8,598 meters), are also in the Himalayas. This mountain range extends through the countries of Bhutan, China, Nepal, Tibet, India, and Pakistan, forming a bow from west to east of 2,600 kilometers (1,625 miles) and from north to south of 350 kilometers (220 miles). Its name comes from Sanskrit, a classical language of India and means "valley of snow".
