    Channel behavior--socialization is a method of teaching behavior, skills, and norms for a person.

    In gender socialization, society teaches norms or behaviors which is deemed appropriate for the sex of the child. By providing guidelines for behavior based on the sex of a person, society creates a structure of roles or jobs a person is responsible for obtaining and acting out. Socialization provides a societal road map for a person's behavior based on their position in society and sex is one of those statuses used.
