Which religion had "home field advantage" during the Crusades?

    Islam had the home field advantage. That is because the crusades revolved around taking Jerusalem and the area around it from Muslims who had been inhabiting the area and who conquered it earlier. The idea was to take the city for Christians and the Christians traveled there from Europe.
