Anna is a high school student. The police came to the school and removed her purse from her locker. They told her that they suspected she was hiding illegal drugs in it. They found no drugs and returned her purse to her. What amendment gives police the right to do this, and what reason must they give?

    The amendment that gives police the right to do this is the fourth amendment. The fourth amendment prohibits unreasonable seizures and searches. However, if the police have probable cause they are allowed to do so.
