The correct answer is - B. Increased exploration meant increased contact between different regions and their inventions.

The shipbuilding, as pretty much everything else, has constantly been developing since the first ships were made to the modern day. The reason why the ships were constantly developing and becoming better and better, becoming quicker, more efficient, safer, was the ever growing communication between the different regions of the world. Each place had its own inventions and advancements and the shipbuilding was not an exception. While traveling, trading, and even going into warfare, lot of information, ideas, technologies were exchanged and discovered, so the people were always using the better way to build a ship once they managed to get knowledge of the new technologies.
