Manifest Destiny is the idea that was held by people who lived in US in the 1800s. Though few people thought that it was a wrong idea, majority believed in it due to various reason.

Prominent among them is the fact that majority of Americans in the 1800's believed that Manifest Destiny was their "God Given Right" to be able to acquire new land which resulted in the westward expansion.

The extent is manifested in the spread of democracy and capitalism across North American continent such as Canada, Panama e. t. c which its effect is still felt till today.
