    The last of these emperors, Marcus Aurelius, was the final emperor of the Pax Romana. His reign was followed by the disastrous reign of his brutal son Commodus (160-192 C. E.). By this time, the Empire was struggling to hold off attacking tribes on the frontiers.

    Explanation:

    Pax Romana is a long and peaceful period of the Rome Empire. In this period the reach the highest economic status and territorial expansion. This happened when Cesar Augusto was the leader of the Empire.

    After this period, many aspirants to the throne rebelled and fought savvy and several civil wars. So, this situation turn the peace into a disaster. This cause the German and Persian pressure take more advantage over the Roman Empire.
