How many electors must a presidential candidate secure in the electoral college to be elected president of the united state?

    For the presidential candidate to win there should be 270 electoral votes. There are actually 538 possible electoral votes. The 538 electors are the different states’ representatives in the Electoral College. The number of electors’ bases is the state’s population. This is the same basis for Congress’ representation.
