    a. Young men were free to go wherever they wanted.

    d. Young men were encouraged to be passionate and violent.

    Explanation:

Gender roles were reconsidered during the period of the Renaissance in Italian states. But women were still confined to their traditional roles and in the areas like religion where there were some liberties but that too was to the extent of attending Churches or becoming Nuns. They were compared Virgin Mary and Eve, and either considered too pure to get out of their homes or too foolish to have listened. On the other hand, men have gained new justification for the liberties and freedom. In the revival of classical texts, they assumed the high position not only in their homes but in new aspects of life.
