It wasn't really necessary Guaranís still wear traditional ornaments and very little else. Originally, they wore no clothing at all. They tied strands of women's hair around their legs in bands for protective ornaments agiants spirits. They sometimes pierced their lower lips always male it was part o the coming of age process. In distant areas, the women wear black body paint and men wear black and red body paint they also like earrings made of shell or gold.
