Lincoln was assassinated by him on April 14, 1865, when Lincoln was watching a play in a theater in Washington D. C. The conspiracy also contemplated the assassination of the Secretay of State Wiliam Seward and the US Vicepresident Andrew Jackson. Seward was only wounded and Johnson was never attacked.
