    Slavery was practiced in Latin America.

    Explanation:

    Latin America was the hub where millions of African people were transported from Africa to French and Spanish colonies. Slaves were brought here in the 16th and 17th centuries.

    Some slave were allowed to read and write. Marriage were also allowed among slaves in Latin America. It was Catholic church who came in support of the slaves. There was a rigid caste system. Slaves also worked for the plantation owners who needed people with good physical strength to work in the fields.
