    The Sherman Antitrust Act was a legislation that was passed in 1890, it outlawed cartels and monopolies to increase economic competitiveness. It was also meant for regulating interstate commerce and hinder the use of trusts as tool for creating monopolies over key industries and getting in hands of few individuals and artificial raising of prices. But when federal government started filing cases under this act very few were successful because the language of the bill was vague and it didn't clearly define the terms such as "combination,"trust," "monopoly." and "conspiracy"
