    Explanation:

    The Enlightenment period which is between 1685 - 1815, witness change inapprocach to treating those with mental illness. Prior to the period of Enlightenment, people tend to treat people with mental Illness through exorcism, trephining and sometimes killing them.

    However, during the Enlightenment period, people with mental Illness, were put into asylum, a place considered to house people with mental disorders so as to take them off the streets rather than treating them.

    Asylum Movement, was a national movement, which started around 1840s, and its purpose is to change the approcach to dealing with mentally disorder people. Fronted by Dorothea Dix, she seek a change the approcach in treating the mentally disorder people, according to her, rather than chanining them and or neglecting them in asylum or prison, without attention, they should rather be treated accordingly or rehabilitated.

    The Early reforms of asylum led to the creation of psychiatric hospitals, use of drugs to treat mentally disorder people, introduction of talk therapy, and seeking outplacement rather than lifelong stays in prison.
