What was the original intention of social security?

    It was basically a bank account that you would slowly make deposits into over your lifetime and when you retired and if you didn't save up money in your own, you would have some funds that the government saved for you to fall back on.

    The original intention of Social Security, was to protect the main identifacational things like Name, Birthday, Arrest Records, Ect. So it would be harder for people to steal your identity. So they looked up your SS Number your personal info would come up proving you to be who you say you are.
