Why was there a movement to establish community mental health centers in the 1960s?

    There was a movement because the movement believed that social integration and inclusivity was important for those who have mental health issues and that alienating them or abandoning them does not do good to anyone. This is why they started placing an emphasis on community acceptance instead of treatment.
