Zimbabwe faces different, more challenging, transportation problems than its neighbors because of its government. Despite its vast natural resource wealth and its population having the highest education rate in the region, the government is rife with corruption. This leads to officials taking bribes, siphoning public money meant for infrastructure projects. This siphoning destabilizes projects, encourages corruption throughout the system and reinforces the stereotypical view of Africa. Therefore, not only does the physical infrastructure system get in Zimbabwe's way of development, so does the government. Because the government gets in the way, through corruption, layers upon layers or Zimbabwe's population also get in the way of development in an attempt to better their own lives, irrespective of the collective betterment.
