The Georgia General Assembly supported resistance to desegregation in different ways. One of them was to strengthen the Jim Crow laws that enforced racial segregation in the Southern states. A curious way of resisting was the state flag of Georgia from 1956 to 2001 that was meant to show resistance to integration.
