    Factors which caused Egypt’s troubles in the 1800s were:

    Reliance on cotton crops.

    Government spending.

    The trouble with Egypt was started in the 1870s when the Egyptian nationalist movement was turned into action and was actively affecting everything. Its main targets were Europeans and Turks. Ottoman Empire was fallen down and a war started between Russian and Turkey. As an effect of war between Turks and Russians, Egyptian nationalists became active.
