A promise of being free is:
Being able to make decisions for yourself.
Not being "owned" by another person.
also being able to speak, think, or act without restraint.

A promise of freedom is to not break the and commit to the law, a promise of freedom is to have the responsibility to make your own decisions under the law and not have anyone own you.
