They were mad at the French for various reasons, one being that they raised taxes on certain items and another because they wanted to be free from them

The English Colonists were mad at the French because of the French and Indian war that cost a lot of money for the British causing them to put even higher taxes than already and then after that the king told the colonists that they were not allowed to make settlements past the Appalachian Mountains.
