The correct answer is - People lose their civil rights.

In the totalitarian regimes, as witnessed in Nazi Germany, but also in numerous other countries around the world, the people are always using their civil rights.

This is the main principle of totalitarian rule, strip people of their civil rights, keep them in fear, monitor and control their actions, in order to get an absolute and unopposed rule.

This kind of rule has always resulted in lot of murders, thousands, even millions. The totalitarian leaders tend to imprison or kill all the people that seem as a threat to them, or just because they do not fancy them as an ethnic religious, cultural group.
