The answer is B a letter from Albert Einstein. However, it was more than a letter. As the Nazi Regime began to heavily persecute Jews in Germany, many Jewish scientists fled the country for America bringing with them knowledge of Germany's advanced rocket systems and plans to develop nuclear weaponry. Once information from these scientists reached US officials, the US ramped up the Manhattan Project to oversee the construction of nuclear weapons before Germany.

The correct answer is the option D.

As the United States entered the World War II they have started developing nuclear projects under the orders of the president Harry Truman. WW2 represented a massive arms race and president Truman believed that the Nazis have started developing a nuclear bomb, so he ordered that the US began the same project immediately in hopes of finishing before the Nazis.
