What happened to the Loyalists after the end of the American Revolution?

They were forgiven by the colonists and lived in peace.

They all returned to England.

They were put in jail for being traitors to the United States.

Some left to go back to England and others left to live in Canada.

    D is the correct answer. Because the loyalists were dedicated to the king, they were not very accepted of in the new country. They left to live back in their home country, and some moved to Canada.
