The correct answer is a. He found the kivas were rebuilt and people were hostile.

In 1681, when Governor Otermin returned after the Pueblo Revolt, he tried to reconquer the Rio Grande region and Santa Fe. He found that the Pueblo people had rebuilt the kivas, their shrines and even undergone rituals to spiritually elliminate baptism. They had left their mission pueblos and built new villages. The Pueblo people had returned to their culture and ceremonies and rejected attempts to return to Spanish rule. In Isleta pueblo, the Puebloans attacked the settlers but they were defeated and Isleta pueblo burned down.

Still, they were hostile towards attempts of Spanish reconquest, what led to bloody incidents like the killing of hundreds of residents in Zia pueblo.
