Germany lost terribly, losing many soldiers and land to its surrounding countries. Throughout the war, Germany had convinced its citizens that they were winning the war. The effect of propaganda was very effective. Germany was also getting starved because of the British Naval blockade. This, in turn, was weakening the German troops. Germany signed the Armistice of 11 November, 1918, ending the fight on land, water, and air in World War I, resulting in a devastating loss and a kick in the pride for Germany.
