The revelations that Muhammad received as he was 40 years old in 610 AD, were given by archangel Gabriel and the messages received were to be written in the holy book of Quran.

The Muslims believe that the teachings of Muhammad are the ultimate revelation of God. Although some other prophets in Jewish and Christian tradition are mentioned in the Quran it is Muhammad who has the last word.

It is believed that shortly after receiving the visions, his wife and his young cousin, his servant and soon many people begin to convert to what would become one of the world largest religions.
