    The U. S. has a history of striving to be an isolationist nation. We strayed from this concept and intervened to our benefit. Our armies were gathered and sent to fight in the Pacific theatre and the Atlantic theatre, as part of the allied nations. We joined the war after an American fleet was bombed by the Japanese at Pearl Harbor.
