The cotton gin (shown above) was invented by Eli Whitney in the 1790s. Its purpose was to allow seeds to be removed from raw cotton more easily. Explain the impact this invention had on both the Southern economy AND the social classes in the Antebellum South.

    Cotton in the usa was made in the south and if you got all of it done faster you can make it the more money you would make
