The Byzantine - Ottoman wars were a progression of conclusive clashes between the Ottoman Turks and Byzantines that prompted the last demolition of the Byzantine Empire and the ascent of the Ottoman Empire. In the long run Constantinople was re-taken from the Latin Empire in 1261 by the Nicaean Empire.
