As the Gilded Age came into play in the period of 1865 to 1900, farmers and industrial workers jumped onto the bandwagon of the new period. Farmers took great advantage of the new land made readily available by the government, and made good use of the new advances and improvements in farming equipment. Industrial workers began to form unions so that they could unite and gain better working conditions, which led to a large increase in the number of strikes and protests in the country. The rise of the Gilded Age brought many advancements and improvements in farming, but it also brought many riots, strikes, and conflicts that severely affected industry.
