Violence has declined in Northern Ireland because terrorist organization

The violence declined in Northern Ireland because of peace negotiations between the Irish Republican Army and the British Government. Belfast Agreement, the IRA and other paramilitary groups launched a ceasefire and decommissioned their weapons and this was matched by the withdrawal of British troops from the streets and border areas as well as the remodeling of the police force. The Constitution was amended by adding Articles 2 and 3 that acknowledge the status of Northern Ireland with the United Kingdom and the Republic of Ireland will change through an election with a majority vote. Later on a new government was elected with Democratic Unionist Part y leader Ian Paisley as First Minister and Sinn Fein deputy leader Martin Mc Guinness as first deputy Frist Minister.
