The advantages of both the north and the south during the civil war

    The biggest advantage the north had was manufacturing jobs. Whereas the south's biggest advantage was agriculture/farming. The north was able to produce guns, ammunition, boats, and many other manufactured goods. The south had cotton, tobacco, livestock, as well as other fresh produce.
