How did the potato famine affect Irish emigration? They switched to pasta. Most of the Irish went on low carbohydrate diets. Over a million people died and emigration was the only option for many. They tried to ignore it. none of the above

    Mass starvation, or the Great Famine, in Ireland in the 1840's directly led to the migration of people overseas. Many Irish people emigrated out of Ireland and immigrated to the United States
