1. Tell me about the economic concerns that caused the Civil War? What were the differences economically between the North and the South that led the South succeed and civil war to erupt? 2.     Economic reasons: It was because in the South, plantation owners had slaves, & were getting a lot of money on growing their cotton. They all gained money from selling the cotton to Europe. The North, however was prospering on lots of factories and immigrants were working in them. The "Yankees" had to pay them money because they weren't slaves.

    Three startegies that led the Union to win the the war:

    1. capture the Mississippi river.

    2. Blockade the southern ports.

    3. Capture Richmond Virginia.

    This was known as the Anaconda plan (because it was supposed to strangle the confederacy!)

    Anaconda plan, was military strategy proposed by Union General Winfield Scott early in the American Civil War.
