    1. What level of government do you think should be in charge of security from foreign enemies?

    Federal.

The Federal government should be in charge because defense from foreign threats needs to be coordinated on a national level to be effective. If each state, or worse, city, is allowed to implement its own defense strategy, the strategy as a whole would probably be extremely uncoordinated and ineffective.

    2. What level of government should you depend on for sanitation in your neighborhood?

    Local

There are thousands of neighborhoods in the United States and it would be extremely difficult for officials at the federal level to implement an effective cleaning policy for each one of them. Besides, local politicians know their neighborhoods better.

    3. Are there any jobs that you think should be switched among federal, state, and local governments? Why?

Perhaps the Housing department should be abolished at the federal level, and be split among several state or local offices. Housing needs are likely to be better known by local politicians than by federal politicians, and the building approving process could be streamlined this way too.
