Why would a longer growing season make southern colonies appealing to settlers?

    Because they would have thought that living there it would be easier to live there,

    The English countryside provided a grand existence of stately manors and high living. It was appealing to settlers because they'll have a longer time to plant crops and a lasting food storage.
