The answer is (D) Union Work.

Slaves in the U. S. South were not viewed as people, but as property to their rightful owners. Worker Unions (Labor Unions, Trade Unions, etc.) have the sole purpose of protecting the worker and setting working condition and labor standards. For slaves, something like this was unheard of, and would serve no purpose, as (again) the slaves were "not people, but property".

The slaves did however participate in gang work (continuous work in the same place all day), skilled work (special skills, training, knowledge) and task work. All of these work types correlate to the work that slaves did in the South; house servants, farmhands, etc. One of the most notable work for slaves was on the cotton plantation, where many slaves worked on the same farm (gang work), harvesting, cultivating and sowing cotton (skilled work / task work).
