Why did General Gage take weapons away from the colonists?

    General Gage took weapons away from the colonists because they were preparing a revolution. They stored weapons away because they were planning an uprising against the British. This is why Gage sent soldiers their way to take the weapons away so as to stop the revolution. However, this was obviously unsuccessful.
